How to Curl Straight Eyelashes to Stay in 3 Steps
If you have Asian eyelashes like me, you know the challenge. Mine are straight as stick! Not matter how much you curl them and pile that thick mascara on, the curl just won’t stay up. But recently, I have learned these simple tricks. It adds just a couple more minutes to the process, but the longer-lasting results are well worth the additional step.
Give it a try! If you have additional tips that work for you, please do share in the comment below.
Step 1. Curl Your Lashes in 3 Sections
We usually curl our lashes in 2 shots — one before applying mascara and one after. But turns out, the way you curl your lashes builds a huge foundation for your lashes to curl in a natural and lasting way. And that is to curl them in 3 sections

Step 2. Add Thickness with A Mascara Primer
Mascara primer is a white color liquid paste. It acts as booster to thicken and lengthen your lashes with a realistic effect right before you apply the actual mascara.
Apply it with zig-zag, upward motion from the roots of your lashes so that even the roots can be pulled up.
Here is an example of an drug-store mascara primer — The NYX Big and Loud Lash Primer.
Step 3. Use A Mascara That Combs Individual Lashes
Use a mascara that comes with due ends – a short tightline brush and a long curved brush.
First, you would apply the mascara using the short tightline brush from root to tip. This step separates and lengthens each individual lash. It’s also key to creating the final layer without all that clumping and build-ups.
Then with the second (final) layer, apply the mascara using the curve brush to build volume and curls.
A great mascara duo for this purpose is the Lash Beauty Full Control Lash Sculpting Mascara.
Taa Daa! Long and thick curls that last all day at last!
